The University of La Laguna (ULL) is a distinguished institution with over two centuries of history, making it the oldest center of higher education in the Canary Islands. Established in 1792 and evolving through various phases, it officially became the University of La Laguna in 1913. Over the years, it has remained a cornerstone of education, research, and innovation in the region, playing a crucial role in shaping both local and international academic landscapes. With a vibrant community of more than 25,000 people, our university offers a dynamic learning environment that nurtures knowledge, critical thinking, and social responsibility. Beyond academics, ULL is deeply committed to fostering research, international collaboration, and societal impact.

We actively participate in Erasmus+ programs and other international initiatives, working closely with institutions across Europe and beyond. As a public university, we value inclusion, accessibility, and excellence, striving to contribute meaningfully to both regional and global challenges. Our participation in this project aligns seamlessly with our institutional mission. By engaging in initiatives that promote youth empowerment, civic engagement, and the development of key soft skills, we are reinforcing our commitment to education that extends beyond the classroom.
Our university actively participates in international collaborations aimed at promoting sustainable development and digital transformation. We have a successful track record in securing European Union funding, particularly through the Horizon Europe programs, which support research and innovation projects that address global challenges. In the realm of positive youth development, ULL has been involved in studies examining the well-being and developmental assets of young people. For instance, we have contributed to research assessing the fulfillment of developmental assets and experiences of social contribution among Spanish undergraduates. This work underscores our dedication to understanding and enhancing the factors that promote active citizenship and personal growth in youth.
