West Ukrainian National University (WUNU) is a classical higher education institution located in Ternopil, Ukraine. Established in 1966, the University has evolved into a multidisciplinary academic and research center that combines education, science, innovation, and international cooperation. In 2020, it was officially renamed West Ukrainian National University and granted the status of a classical university.

WUNU is an active participant in the international academic community and maintains a broad network of partnerships with foreign universities and organizations. According to the University’s official information, WUNU has more than 160 cooperation agreements with partner institutions from more than 41 countries. The University is also involved in international mobility and project activities, including Erasmus+, Creative Europe and DAAD initiatives, which support academic exchange, research collaboration, inclusion, and digital transformation in higher education.

The University’s academic and research profile combines strong expertise in socio-economic disciplines with growing capacity in digital and technological fields. WUNU officially highlights research directions related to information and communication technologies based on artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, processors, theoretical and numerical transformations, and ontology. In addition, its Faculty of Computer Information Technologies offers programmes in computer science, cybersecurity, software engineering, Internet of Things technologies, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence.
